A Stunning Blend of Function & Craftsmanship
✍️ Description:
To bring warmth and organic beauty to the kitchen, we transformed a natural edge slab of acacia into a custom buffet countertop. The slab was cut to size, preserving its unique live edge to maintain its natural character. Rather than discarding the excess, I repurposed the offcuts—cut into strips and laminated end-to-end—to craft a matching backsplash, ensuring a seamless and cohesive look.
To enhance and protect the wood, the entire piece was sealed with butcher block oil, which not only deepens the grain’s richness but also provides a durable, food-safe finish. The final result is a striking, handcrafted countertop that elevates the space with warmth, texture, and timeless appeal.
